An oversized format for mixology and wine, with capacities of 140 cl and 160 cl, designed to encourage sharing and enhanced by Luxion®, RCR’s superior sound glass.
RCR introduces Magnum, a collection featuring two extraordinary goblets created to meet the demands of high-end hospitality, mixology, and retail.
A truly unique proposal: no other manufacturer in the world offers wine glasses of this size. Magnum introduces a new way of interpreting the role of the glass within the drinking experience.
The collection was born within a very specific cultural context. According to recent research on the “Italian style” of alcohol consumption promoted by Federvini and conducted by the Department of Communication and Social Research at La Sapienza University in Rome, Italians overwhelmingly drink in moderation, especially during meals and convivial moments. More than 80% of wine is consumed with meals, while over 70% of cocktails are associated with aperitivo occasions. In Italy, drinking is above all a shared experience.
Mixology Embraces Sharing
Magnum finds its place in the world of mixology, where new ways of consuming cocktails are emerging. Large-format cocktails designed to be shared at the table transform drinking into a more collective, informal, and engaging experience.
Preparations such as punch, sangria, Paloma, and tropical cocktails naturally lend themselves to this style of service, often presented in large vessels that allow multiple guests to enjoy the same drink simultaneously. In cocktail bars, batching techniques make it possible to prepare these recipes in advance, ensuring consistency and speed without compromising quality.
In this context, size becomes part of the experience itself: the drink turns into a visual centerpiece capable of attracting attention and enhancing conviviality around the table.
A New Dimension for Wine
In the wine world, the glass is never neutral. Magnum introduces an oversized format that opens up a different approach to tasting, with two large-capacity goblets — M140 (140 cl) and M160 (160 cl) — designed for structured, aged, and full-bodied wines, both red and white.
The M140, with its 140 cl capacity, is dedicated to red wines: its tulip-shaped bowl combined with the generous size creates the ideal conditions for aromas to unfold in all their intensity.
The M160, with a 160 cl capacity, is designed for white wines: the large bowl allows more subtle aromas to emerge progressively, while the narrower rim concentrates them, amplifying their intensity on the palate.
In both cases, the ample internal air chamber encourages a release of aromas that is difficult to achieve with standard-sized glasses. Swirling the glass creates a vortex that supports oxygenation and highlights the wine’s characteristics, from visual appearance to the finest aromatic nuances.
The RCR Approach: Research and Innovation
At the core of the collection is Luxion®, RCR’s patented superior sound glass, 100% recyclable and capable of guaranteeing transparency, brilliance, and durability even in such large formats. A material specifically designed to withstand professional use over time while maintaining consistent visual performance.
“Our work begins with listening to the market and combining technical requirements with sensory satisfaction. At RCR, we apply a Vertical Integration process that starts from design, continues through mold production, and extends to industrial manufacturing and logistics. This allows us to maintain full control over quality while continuously driving innovation. Magnum was born from this approach and responds to a different way of experiencing tasting,” says Roberto Pierucci, CEO of RCR.
The collection is aimed at different audiences: the Ho.Re.Ca sector, retail, and beverage companies looking for distinctive formats, including customized projects.
Magnum fits into RCR’s broader path toward developing solutions designed together with industry professionals. In this way, the glass becomes a tool that supports everyday work while contributing to the overall tasting experience.
