At the production plant, located in the heart of Chianti, Colle di Vald’Elsa (Tuscany), where approximately 300 people work, the production process is fully integrated; it takes place in Italy, from design and raw material procurement to the final product.

Three quality controls during the production cycle

The quality of RCR products begins at the design stage, where every possible detail is studied to ensure each product is highly durable, while the natural transparency and brilliance of our patented Luxion® material complete the result. During the production process, three quality controls are carried out, allowing us to be considered among the companies with the highest quality standards. After passing the electronic checks, the final verification before packaging the product is always performed by a human.
The entire melting process is fully electric and aimed at continuous reduction of energy consumption, an effort that has allowed us to reduce CO2 emissions by a quarter from 2008 to today (certified under the ETS framework). RCR is part of the CO2 Neutral area in the Province of Siena (www.carbonneutralsiena.it) and was awarded in 2015 for its commitment to environmental protection and its contribution to achieving the Terre di Siena Carbon Free goal.
We create a product that is infinitely recyclable, with the least possible environmental impact, and we are part of the Print Relief project, the world’s first platform for certified reforestation and carbon offsetting.
We strive to offer the best possible service to our customers and, while we don’t claim to be perfect, we are proud to have long-standing partnerships with some of them that have lasted for over thirty years. RCR Cristalleria Italiana S.p.A. has had an Ethical Code in place for years, aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency in internal management, in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 231 of June 8, 2001, and the adopted Organization, Management, and Control Model.
Furthermore, RCR Cristalleria Italiana S.p.A. has implemented an internal reporting system (whistleblowing) for reporting actions or events related to potential illicit conduct relevant under Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, the Organization, Management, and Control Model, the Ethical Code, or actions that may harm the interests or integrity of RCR Cristalleria Italiana S.p.A., in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree 24/2023. The reporting procedures are outlined within the Ethical Code.
